Message from Aaron Hansen

Hi everyone.  I was recently asked to be the mentor chairperson for Northeast Iowa for IMEA.  My job is to set up a mentor for each first year general music teacher in our district.  I am looking for mentors who can be a resource for these new teachers and possibly even visit them sometime.  There is grant money that is becoming available to allow mentors to visit their new colleagues at their schools.  This will also serve our chapter as we can get these new people to workshops!! If you would be willing to serve as a mentor please email ataaron.hansen@wsr.k12.ia.us .  Mentors are so important to these new folks.  Please consider it if someone is close in proximity to your school.  Below is the list of new teachers.  Thanks!  Aaron

AOSA Convention

Dear First Iowa Orff Chapter Members,

If you are going to the AOSA national convention this November, please consider serving as a session host.  It is a very fun and easy way to volunteer a bit of your time while at the convention.  See below for more information.  If you are interested, please contact Laura at:  ldobrowits@live.com

Thank you!

Subject: Looking for Session Hosts at Nov AOSA conference

Hello Orff Friends.

I am the Local Conference Committee Chair for Session Hosts for the 2009 AOSA Convention this coming November in Milwaukee.  I am warmly inviting you all to attend this spectacular event and also hoping that you may forward the attachment to your chapter members.  I am looking for individuals who may be interested in serving as Session Hosts during the conference.  This is a great way to volunteer but also attend the sessions!

Thank you!
